Many people lost their jobs due to the corona virus pandemic.
The government has launched a scheme called "Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan
Yojana' to provide unemployment benefits. Quite 50,000 individuals have
benefited from the scheme. The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)
runs the scheme. In this article we have to discuss about Unemployment
Allowance and how the government, pays 50% of the salary to the unemployed, to
make a profit.
Considering the pandemic, the government has extended the
‘Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana’ till 30 June 2022. Previously, the plan was
until June 30, 2021.
Under the ‘Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana’, unemployed
people are being given an allowance for financial assistance when they lose
their jobs. An unemployed person can benefit from this allowance for 3 months,
where he can claim 50% of the average salary. After 30 days of unemployment, a
claim can be made by joining the scheme.
To take advantage of this scheme, the employees associated
with ESIC can apply for it by visiting any branch of ESIC. After that, the
application will be confirmed by ESIC and if this is done, the amount will be
sent to the account of the employee concerned.
Who can benefit from this Scheme?
- The benefits of this scheme can be
taken by the people employed in the private sector (organized sector) who
deduct PF / ESI pay per month.
- ESI benefits are available for
private companies and employees working in factories An ESI card is made for
this.
- Employees can avail the benefits
of this scheme on the basis of this card or documents brought from the company
The benefits of ESI are available to employees whose monthly income is 21,000
or less.
How to register for this scheme?
- To take advantage of this scheme,
you first need to download the form of the Atal Beemit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana for

- Fill out the form now and submit it to the
nearest branch of ESIC. The form must be submitted on a non-judicial stamp
paper worth Rs 20.4 with the notary's affidavit. It will submit forms AB-1 to
AB-4.
- It can be observed that there will
be no benefit if you lose your job due to misconduct. People who are fired from
the company due to misconduct will not be able to get this allowance In
addition; employees who have a criminal case against them or have voluntarily
retired (VRS) will not be able to avail the benefits of the scheme.
